I think most people only think they prefer the taste of bottled beer since it's traditionally been higher quality to start with and they usually only buy cans of swill for outdoor activities. If people try a few cans of Fat Tire, I think their perceptions would change quickly.
When is the last time you saw a liner in a can? Fat tire is OK for an amber ale. Would not call it Belgium style at all . A can of it is worst then a bottle. People don't think it's better just because it is traditional. Its chemiste with the metal. If companies are selling it when it is only 3 weeks old and to your belly an extra 5 days later, It does not even have enough time for light to effect it. Most the time its boxed up in a cooler truck to the store then in to a fridge. The beer DOEs sit in a metal vat to a metel can or metal to glass. Glass beer still has a metal taste but dose not sit in a can during the extra week.
