It turned out to be a bad year to sell a Cammalleri as the market didn't overpay for goal scoring wingers for once. What Burke says is true, big mistakes are made on trade deadline. Unfortunately it seems as a whole the GM's are being a little more careful with their 1st round picks in regards to rentals and not many huge mistakes appeared to be made.
I like what Burke said about not caving in and selling your assets for whatever and how that helps your bargaining position in the future.
Berra - A+ Got more value for him than anyone could or would have hoped for
Stempniak - B+ Got solid value IMO
Cammalleri - Looks like he just wasn't valued highly by the market. To be fair he has been pretty horrible. Sounds like Burke tried his best but based on him not going I'm imagining he only got offered a 4th or a 5th for Cammy
Butler - Not sure why you'd keep him. I guess it does kind of help Abbotsford by not destroying their defensive depth.
So amazing return for Berra, good value for Stempniak. Disappointing that nobody stepped up to the plate and offered a good package for Cammalleri and Butler. Not sure we can blame Burke for getting lowballed. I'm fine with Burke turning down late round pick offers for those two although personally I would've moved them for whatever. His reasoning why they didn't makes perfect sense to me and I hadn't thought of it like that.
