I agree the lesson learned is all on the Flames side, 100%. I just don't like defense of Iggy on this by many fans, he screwed the Flames at the end in what seemed to be a very trusting relationship. And to be honest, I feel he screwed them by being irrational, feeling like you are only comfortable going to just 1 team is just silly from his point of view. I even feel like he picked the wrong contender for what he had to offer, he'd have been a better fit IMO in Chicago, LA or Boston and would have helped himself win a cup more by going to those teams. But that's just my thoughts, far from fact.

Point being, the Flames needed to be more diligent, lesson learned, but to think Iggy would honor his list of 4 (very amazing teams) likely shouldn't have been a stretch for the Flames, and I'm sure they were caught of guard by his stance at the last minute. Iginla just simply isn't the flawless individual many will fight to the bitter end to suggest he is, and that's ok. Still my favourite player, but don't love what he did last year.
