The Canucks didn't decide to go with the older goalie who doesn't want to be there over the younger, better goalie they had just signed. That wasn't a team building decision. It was an unplanned for scrambled decision.
I think the decision to move Luongo was under similar duress, namely, "trade me right tucking now."

Was there evidence/discussion of this, or an opinion? (not trying to be a jerk - just asking and genuinely curious)
Because I agree that it wasn't a good hockey decision, but I always just assumed it was a function of not being able to move Luongo and eventually panicking, not any significant off-ice event that forced a Schneider trade.
