If salary and cost of living were equal in other cities as in Calgary - I would consider Vancouver or Victoria for weather, family & friends, and stuff to do.
My wife however, has fairly non-transferable engineering skill set, so we're staying put in Alberta. Aside from that, I am not keen on moving anywhere else in Canada unless it is more west. I would consider another country just for the experience.
I moved to Kelowna for an opportunity with a startup company a few years ago, and the one thing that I definitely appreciated was the commute time, and also the ease of biking to work (the roads nicely accommodate the bike lanes). I came back because we bought a house in Calgary and wanted kids.
