I think you're splitting hairs over the actual talent level Monahan is going to reach. When picking a comparable, it's not that he has to turn into that player, I think most people just see it as a comparable in playing style.
Toews is a good comparable, so is Langkow, so is Bergeron. Why? Because they're all pretty much the exact same TYPE of player.
