Ward's Notes:
- Thought that the Heat played 2 different parts of the game 1st period was equal, 2nd period GR dominated and Heat struggled with long changes, 3rd period was do or die and they had a great push in the 3rd and skated well and put more pucks on the net
- #1 Key for tonight is to improve the hard game. Not fighting or checking hard, but 1 on 1 loose puck battles. Some players a little light in the loafers and need to get stronger on the puck. Heat need to earn that part of the game back.
- GR is a nice skating team that gets to you quickly. They play much like the Red Wings and it's difficult. The skate better and that ran the Heat into problems.
- Kremyr in the lineup tonight and want him to play like he did on the last callup. Brings physical energy and competes and wants him to bring that back. That is why he was called up, to bring that energy.
- Heat are paying attention to their game rather then the standings. It is up in the locker room on the TV screen but generally the guys are more concerned with their own play and more of the teams play.
- Line combos from last night are based on whose going together well and who have played well together before. Ward is just putting together new lines to see what happens and see how the guys are self-talking and getting themselves going.
- Joey MacDonald is making the start tonight against the former club. Ward hopes he's focused and ready to go. Thinks Roy did a good job last night, but wants a goalie to step up and take the crease.
