Would not surprise me one bit to see either a) the east of Ukraine split to join Russia, b) the east split to create a new country closely aligned with Russia or c) outright civil war where Russia claims the leftovers.
The west and more specifically the EU cannot afford to absorb a broken state like Ukraine, there is no oil or strategic resource there other than a geopolitical score to settle with Russia.
