With all of the Olympic pre-game stuff they had to wait until the first tv timeout to show it; I think he would have had a much better reception had they done it at the start of the game.

I think the Olympic stuff did impact it, but also the pure factor of time did. Been a while since he was on the team. I know I didn't realize they were doing it until half way through, then I sat there for a while and tried to wrap my head around how this could possibly the first time back since we moved him.
