That's pretty much exactly what I saw as well.
While there was little in the way of opportunities for him to show anything offensively, what he
did do last night was show the coaching staff that he can play in this league from a defensive standpoint. He showed them that he isn't a liability out there, which allows them the confidence to give him more ice-time, which in turn will give him the chance to get his confidence and his legs underneath him.
IMO, he earned another game at the very least.
Also, if I was the coach, I would go right back to Ortio tomorrow - give him a second chance. I highly doubt that Hartley will, however.
