However, I have a 10" Ontario Raider SP10 Bowie Knife I take camping, that is big enough to chop down small trees, and yes, I can certainly see walking into the Dome with that strapped to my leg being an issue. That is a weapon.

I look at it this way.
These "rules" are set/made for the lowest common denominator (which I don't think you are), but I think you will agree there are a large number of mouth breathers that attend games. It is for these people that this rule was made, and I am fine with that.
