I still received the same Alberta diploma as everyone else in the mail. I got into university in a competitive program that required an 86% average to apply for. I went to my High Schools Grad Banquet, and missing the ceremony really did not bother me much.
If the schools guidelines are that you must get at least 50% in all of your classes for the final year, then these kids need to take responsibility and either pass the classes or miss the graduation ceremony. I don't see the problem.

I think the problem is that they didn't decide it at the start of the year, and some classes are already complete.
