What stands out to me is that he's always been able to elevate his game to the next level. Some players cap out when jumping to higher levels, and others thrive on it, because now they have better players around them. Gaudreau seems to me to be the type that would benefit from it.
He has always looked good at the prospect camps, even his first one, and he's been leaps and bounds better at each successive one, including last year, where to me he was clearly above everyone else. He played with Monahan in all the games if I remember, and he was definitely the straw that stirred the drink on that line!.
Yeah, the big question is his size, and in the end maybe it does finally limit him, but I don't see it. He's had to deal with it his whole life and has overcome every other obstacle, this is just one more. I think he's learned to use it to his advantage to be honest, it was pretty apparent in the world juniors when he was playing against Canada.
