Is it sad? Absolutely! He should have taken a shot and put the moose down. It looked like it was still struggling. That's my issue with the video. He cowardly rode away. I'd even go further and say why not use the meat??
If this was in Canada he'll get in big trouble.. are hand guns legal at all?

Pretty much my thoughts too. I make no claims to know much about snowmobiling, moose, or being out in the woods. What I do know is if a Moose jumped at me like that, adrenaline takes over and if I have a gun, it's going down.
Yeah, the guy in the video shouldn't have approached it like that. His fault for starting the situation, I'm not arguing that. But after that, how he responded is pretty much how I would have as well. Except I don't carry a handgun around.
