R-watched the video and got angrier at the stupidity of the rider.
There was a pretty clear path to his left side he looked right at it after seeing the moose and then kept approaching the moose.
He didn't have a noise maker he clapped his hands. Anyone in the woods is going to have something that makes a ton of noise if they're worth their salt.
Then the moose approaches him and does the territorial step charge and then does the back off, the guy moves forward he doesn't sit back and wait. So of course the moose is going to feel threatened.
So yes the moose charges, but any jeopardy or threat to life has been caused by this moron.
Then he basically pulls out a hand gun after the moose has backed off again and fires multiple shots. The moose is clearly not dead, its suffering and then the arse hole drives past the animal and takes off and I'm assuming doesn't call anyone to come out and deal with the moose dead or alive.
The guy is a typical yahoo who has no clue what he's doing but thinks because he has a snowmobile he's an out doorsman.
He's carrying a loaded pistol for god knows what reason, because frankly if he ran into a predator who had real bad intentions that pistol would do little good.
I'm almost left with conclusion that when he saw that moose down the road, he made the decision that he was going to kill it because he had the pistol and it would be helicool.
Plus he filmed it on his gopro and probably posted it with the expectation that he'd get a million hits with comments like you da man, and way to conquor nature dude.
This guy is the exact reason why I don't think that people should be allowed to carry weapons on their person unless they're a cop or military, because people make bad decisions and feel invincible when they carry a gun.
I would hope that this guy gets snagged and either gets a major fine that forces him to sell his snowmobile and his gun, or he gets jail time.
