This is just my feeling but I think he isn't the type of guy that you want around for a re-build. And I think the organization, now led by Burke, knows that.
I think they wished that Hudler was the pending UFA and that Cammy was signed. So they are trying to do just that. Sign Cammy so he's the one to stick around deal Hudler, potentially for better value than Cammy will net.
