The sad fact is the Flames do need to hit the cap floor next year. If there are no viable UFA wingers, then they don't have a ton of choice.
I'd love to give a few rookies a shot, but given the need to hit the cap floor, there likely isn't room for more than two rookies (maybe three if Ortio is the backup) in the lineup next year.
