In 1992 (too lazy to look up 94 as well) it was largely recent NHLers (Burke, Dahl, Juneau, Manderville. Tippett... etc) or AHL/IHL calibre players (Plavsic) as well as the odd guy that left college a year early and wanted to join the national program (Kariya) or hot shot prospect (Lindros, Kidd). There were actually very few guys that "couldn't make it pro"
