Not Canada's fault, but these tournaments are losing a lot of their attraction unless they become more competitive.
US didn't really stand a chance, once Canada turned it on in the 3rd, there was no contest.

Hasn't this been the way its been in hockey forever. Basically two countries have won everything - Canada and the Soviet Union. Sweden and USA and the Czechs have the odd win but its pretty much always been dominated by those two countries.
In the Olympics - Canada's won 12, Soviets won 7 (plus 1 for the 'Unified team') and the US with 3, Sweden 2, Czech/Great Britain have won 1.
Canada Cup - Canada won 4, Soviets won 1
World Cup - Canada and the US won 1.
I suppose there was a stretch there from 96 World Cup through 2006 Olympics where there was a bit more parity (96 WC - USA, 98 Oly - Czech, 02 Oly - Canada, 04 WC - Canada, 06 Oly - Sweden) but that was more of a blip than a common occurrence.
