But if you're Charles Wang, you just watched your elite, franchise player suffer a devastating injury and there is no guarantee he'll ever be the same player again. I can obviously see why they don't want their players involved in this. Will it actually be enough to prevent them going in 2018? We'll see.

Ironically had Claude Giroux made the team and this was him who suffered the injury then it might actually be the nail in the coffin of players going in 2018. Ed Snider hates the Olympics already so had his guy been the one who suffered this injury, I'd imagine he'd do everything in his power to stop them going in 2018.
