So, what are you suggesting? He actually did report and the Heat are lying about it? He was told to not return and when he didn't, they suspended him? He was given the wrong directions to their next game?
The guy has played a total of 21 NHL games with three different teams over the last 3 seasons. He makes $70,000 a year in the AHL, so it's not like he's walking away from a massive contract.
Between his signing bonuses on his ELC and his AHL salary, he has made a half a million dollars over the last five years (plus significantly more for the few times he was on an NHL roster). He should have a decent amount left to go back to school, or pursue other interests.
