You were playing devil's advocate using an issue that is totally irrelevant to the current issues regarding Native American content used in sporting franchises.
The problems are with:
A) Racist logos or phrases (Redskins/Wahoo)
B) Representations of actual native people (Black Hawk)
C) Misuse of traditional Native American actions (Braves celebration)
What you're claiming to play devil's advocate with isn't even relevant to the discussion, making you seem ignorant of the issues. If you're ignorant of the issues, don't attempt to play someone who isn't for the sake of "devil's advocate".
Trust me, I'm firmly part of the "far left" and being far left has nothing to do with the use of Native American imagery. We don't just make stuff up to get upset about. That post just made you look goofy.

If you think one has nothing to do with the other simply makes you come across as the ignorant one here. lol, I have many, many native family and friends , having grown up with many reserves around and quite a few in my class and many more in our school, many I still consider friends today, one having stood up for me at my wedding and is one person I can bloody well guarantee will take offence to this use. So no sir,I am far from ignorant when it comes to this issue.
Most wouldn't have issue with it but lots will. I am very much in tune with native issues not just with respect to sports but across the board, so please do not try to insult my intelligence or I will school you in the issues!
Now, you tell me smart guy, how would you create a mascot or a logo that would sell jerseys with the name totem that will not be perceived as an insult? I think many would take issue with that "misrepresentation of Native American heritage", that i will continue to pay devils advocate and say it would open the NHL to a lot of bad press with linkage to other names and " this goes to show you how backwards the sport of hockey is" pack mentality.
Many in the native community do not want any native heritage being associated with sports at all and as such the media and then the far left will take up the cause, that you know to be true!
Anyways enough about this, I have said my piece, I think there would be problems, you obviously don't, so be it! But I am guessing the NHL would say no!
