Last night’s episode was way better. At least there was a little bit of tension as opposed to the snore-fest last week. Seriously. My wife actually fell asleep during last week’s show, so this was definitely improvement. As few observations though:

-It drives me a little crazy that Rick’s group manages to hopelessly scatter itself to the wind after every crisis. You would think that a group organized enough to establish a leadership council and maintain a fairly well-sized community at the prison would have put together some kind of an evacuation plan or established a rendezvous point in the event that they were ever forced out. This is a group that had already been separated once when they had to abandon the farm, so you’d think they would have some kind of contingency plan, right? I mean – the Governor had already attacked the prison before and then the fences were falling in under the weight of all the zombies pushing against them, so it’s not like it would be out of the realm of possibility that something could happen that would force them to leave in a hurry. I get that having the group actually do things that would make sense in real life would then preclude the half-dozen “individual” storylines we’ll probably be watching for the next few episodes, but it’s stuff like this that kind of makes me wish they’d all just get eaten.

-Lizzie is a creepy-ass little kid. Her killing those bunnies for no reason is a pretty good indicator that she was the one feeding the walkers back at the prison. She seems to have an unhealthy obsession with death, and I’m pretty sure she would have killed Judith if Carol hadn’t happened along. Glad to see Carol back too, even if we all knew it was simply a matter of time. I wonder how long it’ll be before Tyrese finds out what Carol did (if she actually did it) and how he’ll react.

-Still can’t figure out what’s up with the ex-army doctor alcoholic dude with Maggie & Sasha. All of a sudden he’s Mr. “I’m going to be happy all the time because I choose to”. Just seems like kind of a disjointed character - at first I thought there was maybe something sinister going on with him but now I’m not so sure. This show generally isn’t the type to be throwing out red herrings so I hope they either do something with him soon or kill him off because as it is it’s just kind of distracting.
