Would the IOC even consider coming back to an Olympic City for a second go around?
I wouldn't support it if it ended up costing $51 billion, but would certainly welcome it if the benefits from hosting again outweigh the costs and negatives.
The winter Olympics bring this Country together. The government has spent a lot of money on the own the podium program, but when we get to see the results and feel the pride, I think it's money well spent. What we spend on sport is a fraction of a fraction of the federal budget. For something that gives so many so much joy, it is certainly worth the investment.
If an investment in Calgary can be shown to have a net benefit to Canada, I think that is great and something we should support.
