Call me crazy but if I'm doing a bad contract for bad contract deal (as you worded) I would feel like I made out like gangbusters taking back $3.9 million less than what I gave up.
Another exhibit why Jay Feaster will likely never work in the NHL again as a GM. Maybe fans don't lose sleep over wasting this type of money but if I was an owner I wouldn't be exactly thrilled especially when one of the bad contracts you took in what's looking like a lopsided trade is playing in Abbotsford with another year remaining on his 1 way deal.

Did we at least lose contract length with O'Brien and Jones? Can someone remind me? I though there was some upshot in that trade...
edit: NOPE... we have Jones until 2016 (same as Tanguay), and now have O'Brien signed through 2015. Sarich is UFA after this year. FML
