The two statements have nothing to do with each other, what are you missing?
The statement was essentially "That makes no sense."
Instead of "guns kill people by themselves" it could have been "tigers make great pets". The intention of the statement was to outline how little sense the proposition of a gay man being unable to resist a bunch of dicks in a room was.
