I noticed that Luge has 4 runs total. Can someone explain how the process works? I noticed that no one was cut from run 1 to run 2, just wondering what the point of all the runs is? is it a cumulative score? do they take the best score of all your runs? CBC has done a phenomenal job overall but my one complaint is the website says nothing about what each round means and what is needed to qualify to move on. Even the announcers seem to assume that the audience already knows. Maybe I'm just slow?

I see the mens ski jumping has two rounds tomorrow. Does anyone know how that works? do they cut down to a predetermined number after the first round?

I've been having a heck of a time trying to keep up with these things. Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light.
