It is interesting though that since Redford was elected pretty much all of the Liberals now support her no matter what she does. They jump to her defense on every scandal and rarely if ever criticize her. The Alberta PC Party has been taken over from the inside, it is basically now a Liberal party in all but name. I don't love the Wildrose, some of their policy is stupid and some of their candidates were undesirable (even though those few never would have been elected) but they are the only party with any interest whatsoever in fiscal restraint.
The issue here isn't nickel and diming politicians, it's a complete disregard for taxpayer money.

Believe me there are many, many areas where I disagree with the Redford government. I have said many times on the board (and maybe in this exact thread, unless I deleted those posts) that I think the government should move to consumption taxes and their inability to address what is clearly a revenue problem is a major short-coming. I've openly criticized their education policies and think that this sector needs a significant overhaul. I have no problem admitting that the health sector needs major changes.
I think that the part you get confused by is that I don't think that the Wildrose offers any real solutions here. You seem to think that my not loving Danielle and her band of PCs under a different banner is somehow tacit endorsement of Redford. Its not. I basically support none of the parties actually, and can't see that changing leading up to the next election.

Just because someone like Slava thinks Redford is a better Premier than Jane Morgan would've been doesn't mean the party has been infiltrated by leftist political assassins.
Quite frankly, a liberal infiltration of the PCs would be better for the Voters of Alberta than this fakery of one party elections masquerading as two.

I do think that Redford is better than what we would have under Smith and I don't think that makes me a communist? I just haven't seen anything to indicate that the PCs who now identify as Wildrose are any different than what we had under Steady Eddie.
I just happen to think that there is a third way forward. Its not either Redford and her brand of conservatism against Smith and her brand of conservatism. At this point that third way hasn't really emerged, but there is no way that I'm the only one who feels that none of the current options are a good representation of what I want to see from the Alberta government.
