Simply put because it's not signed.
I can say with almost 100% certainty that Wolf has not signed with the Flames. In fact I am sure he is not even allowed to talk to the Flames about a contract right now.
Not because I have any inside sources, but because he is not allowed. I am pretty sure the DEL falls under the same IIHF rules that the SEL does. The same rules that stated we could not discuss a contract with Tim Erixon until after his club season was done (and longer if he commits to the world championships)
This is why he would have to deny it.
