*nod* Some medications, too, cause photophobia. We've experienced that here. Their eyes were light sensitive before being ill and even after finishing the long term medications prescribed to deal with the disease, there is still the issue. Add in a case of crud because of minor illness and a less than fantastic immune system, and I've got one around here who keeps several pairs of sunglasses in the house and puts them on when it gets very bright in here, or when they open the door to let the critters out. Great fun.
And then there's the mix of Table 5's toque guy and strombad's sunglasses everywhere guy, who has both on, with the carefully perfected slouchy boobish bit hanging off the back of his head.
