I can see that there is a lot of disappointment in how it has gone with Baertschi who was thought to be the Flames #1 prospect by 89 CP posters in August. Monahan was thought to be #1 by 114.
Would there be more or less disappointment in Granlund with Minnesota or Niederreiter with the Islanders last year than we have with Baertschi?
I have maintained the opinion that there are only a few spots on any NHL roster for small skilled guys... After the Flames clear out Cammalleri it leaves Baertschi fighting it out with Hudler, Gaudreau, Byron and Granlund for the 2 or 3 small forward spots. I would not be shocked if Baertschi is moved to a different team.
