Not sure why Calgary has to wait for other cities to do it first. Having a train from the airport to the downtown core is HUGE. It will be absolutely essential to have in the future, if it isn't already. We have many business travelers coming here and tourism is growing. It makes complete sense.

If the Calgary Airport Authority steps up today and says that they will pay for their part of the line (as happened in Vancouver), I'm sure there would be shovels in the ground (more or less) tomorrow.
Otherwise, I've been over this with you
before. Airports aren't very good ridership generators, and until such a time as there aren't other unbuilt transit projects that are much better ridership generators, LRT to the airport shouldn't be near the top of the priority list.
