I totally get you in the sense that the goal song needs to have emotional backing behind it. I had a more elaborate thought process behind my choice than "Omg this would sound cool being blasted over the PA lulz'.
Original motion scores, if done well, capture the moment and atmosphere - including emotion. I always want my team to play with emotion.
See, I picked my goal song for two reasons:
1.) The title of the track ("
Aggressive Expansion") matched the theme of our new growing team just in the opening act of a likely lengthy rebuild. Plus the whole Burke truculence thing & all.
2.) I also thought about what a team needs to feel like after a goal. I felt like the song needed to say "good job, good hustle, now get your head back in the game and focus on the next one". If we're down 2-0 in the 3rd and cut the deficit to 1, I wanted the team to have the energy and resolve to charge all the way back.
