Kid's a great prospect, but realistically he'll probably become a better Matthew Lombardi. That's no knock to him.

Lombardi's draft year: 18 g 44 pits in 65 games. In the following year he scored 28 and 67 in 72.
Poirier's draft year: 32 g 72 pts in 65 games. He is on pace to crack 100 pts this year.
Poirier has a fairly significant size advantage on Lombardi when he was the same age, and was a first-round draft pick in a strong draft. He is a much, MUCH better prospect than Lombardi ever was, and we should expect him to be a much better player at the NHL level.
