On a serious note though, I'll always like St Louis. Despite not 'putting it together' in Calgary, he always said nice things about how Calgary gave him the chance to be an NHLer. Even when being confronted with aggro reporters asking him if it's 'payback time' to Calgary. Also, he's the 'point the finger at him!' guy for smaller players making it in the NHL (Theo Fleury aside).

I am old enough to remember St. Louis on Calgary and he was a good little player and I liked him too. No one thought he would some day lead the league in scoring. Undrafted. Went through waivers. Every team and every professional talent evaluator probably had a chance to look at him, and no one took a chance (except Tampa, I suppose).
It would be like if Street was picked up on waivers and became a superstar. Not impossible, but not very likely either. Certainly not something to suggest that it was a massive mistake on the Flames part at the time.
P.S.: What is happening with Sven has nothing to do with Marty.
P.P.S.: I thought the dehydrated goalie was another guy, for some reason. They didn't have water bottles on the nets prior to his issues.
