The only issue with Jones is his expensive contract. But the flames dont have cap problems and won't have them for the foreseeable future, and aren't looking to trade him. So the fact that he has an expensive contract is kind of an irrelevant argument.

I don't have a problem with David Jones as a player. I think most here would like to see him use his size a little more effectively, but that's true of many of the Flames. The effort and attitude he seems to bring are certainly welcome on a rebuilding club. The problem I have is more to do with asset management. Tanguay, a consistent producer just about everywhere he goes, should have been worth more than a 'serviceable' third liner with a 'good work ethic'. At least, in my opinion.
However, the trade is long since done. For now, I'll be cheering for Jones to find some chemistry with Stajan and Bouma on the third line and perhaps regain his 20-goal form.
