It's only because he's the one player from the Sutter era that was brought in unsigned and showed some promise but to date hasn't been able to put it together at the NHL level. I get that they want to see what he can do but who sits in the top six to give him ice time? I don't think he is an improvement on O'Brien and SOB is not the major reason why we suck. People bitch and moan about a dufus for dufus trade but this is a dufus for dufus call up/demotion.

I guess all it would have taken is a relesse stating SOB is assigned to Abby and a call up is pending and my overreaction would have been less. Yeah, I spend too much time on this site and twitter awaiting breaking roster news but given the state of the team, that's all we have is the promise of a better tomorrow and tomorrow can't come soon enough.

I agree that moves should be made to improve this team, but we should be looking to improve the future of this team. It's obvious O'Brien isn't in this teams future plans and he most definitely isn't needed as a positive veteran presence in our lineup moving forward.

Breen was with the flames briefly to start the year and he was told what facets of his game need to improve on in order to become an NHLer. This showing will see if there's been improvements and what his future role is with the club.

First people want to see what our prospects can do in the NHL and then they freak out when a veterans position is being taken by a younger player. We're in a rebuild everyone, get used to some of our established veterans getting demoted or traded for future assets.

I for one am excited to see Breen's progression as I know he improved leaps and bounds last year and hope more of the same has happened this year.
