Serious cherry-picking there.
Last three seasons Tanguay scored 69 points, 49 points (in 64 games) and 27 (in half a season, which means he was easily on pace to break 50 again).
To put it another way: Tanguay has been on pace for 50+ points 12 times in his 13 NHL seasons. (His TB season being the exception. And really, 37 points in a season isn't
terrible.) He does tend to lose games to injuries, but there's always a team willing to take that chance.
Sure, he's been injured some and he's certainly a secondary scoring threat at this point, but he's also getting paid accordingly.
Crap trade, no way around it.
EDIT: Actually, he's played at least 78 games in 6 of his last 8 seasons (I'm counting 40 out of 42 last season in that.) So really the injury thing is overblown too.
