Same old same old. Fans want to support a winner. Regardless of the market.
Teams buffer the attendance with every season ticket, and any they give away to charity. So it's not really "attendance" it's "people who could have been here if they wanted".
In the late 90's in Calgary not many wanted. The upper decks were closed, and you could get a ticket for $5 with the purchase of a case of Coke. It'll likely go similar over the next couple seasons.
