I'm all for giving Berra time to develop, but there's no need to make excuses for him either. It's not that difficult to see why people are negative about him. If he improves people will change their opinions.
By the way, Tampa most certainly didn't have a good defensive team when Rämö started there. He actually had a better save percentage than Mike Smith in his rookie year.
