Giordano may not have much playoff experience, but neither did Keith, Doughty or Seabrook before the 2010 Olympics. You're putting too much into playoff experience. Gio has played more games on international ice than all 3 of those guys put together (okay, probably not true, but he has a lot), and that is what would make him the first injury replacement.

I stand corrected..... but Keith and Seabrook had just come off 17 playoff games knocking off the highly rated (but injured Flames) and the Canucks... They played in the Conference Final.
to put some perspective on that accomplishment on the current Flames only Hudler (twice) and Cammalleri have played in a conference Championship series.
Gio's KHL experience playing a season against 40 year old Russians wilts compared to all the games played on the larger ice by every member of the Olympic teams except Canada and USA...
