Not so much of a track record
Pietroangelo 14 NHL playoff games and world Jrs. Bouwmeester 6 NHL playoff games and 7th place finish at the Olympics along with out of playoff WC. Vlasic no international experience.
Hamhuis the out of the play-offs WC
Basically the team has 3 proven studs (playoffs and Internationally)-- Weber, Doughty and Keith.
Compared to 2010 Gold medal defense:
Pronger, Niedermeyer, Boyle, Keith and Seabrook all were top d-men on at least 1 Stanley cup winner... Doughty and Weber were the young guys that earned their spots beating out Bouwmeester and Phanuef.
