The problem is, to me at least, is that he came across like a Sean Avery-type character after the game. Just bad sportsmanship. If he said that stuff before the game, whatever. It's a competition.
After though, when you've just won the game, and the object of your tirade is sitting silent in the other locker room, it just seemed childish.
One thing we had drummed into us in hockey (which obviously has a different culture) was
Don't Do That.
Of course it still happened. The damn "shake hands line" was when the gloating was usually done, but you always got heat from the coach if he heard you.
