I agree in that I have been waiting for the day Stajan and Butler would no longer be on this team.
But if this is a 1-2 year contract it won't go against Burkes mandate and I can tolerate it.
Backlund and Monahan are our best centers and Colborne looks to be better suited for the wing... Probably not a good idea to go into next season with Backlund and Monahan as our only experienced centers.
I would love to trade Stajan, Stempniak, Cammalleri and Butler but the truth is only Cammalleri and Stempniak have value in a trade.
Stajan taking hard minutes and letting the young centers develop is better for the team in the long run.
However, if this is a 3+ year deal I will be livid..
