Another gear grinder. Have your card ready. It's not rocket science. You know you'll need it when you get there so get it ready. I always have mine out, along with my air miles card (at Safeway anyway) to hand to the cashier.

Sure it does. They have to ring off their phone number, the cashier has to ready the system for non-standard input and either the people get the number wrong, can't remember the number they used for the card, because they have since changed their number or the cashier types it in wrong and we go through the process again.
Just bring your damn card.
