Nothing too unexpected, but the article states it was likely he was radicalized in Calgary by elements of the local community. Furthermore, the lead imam of the Al Madina Calgary Islamic Centre didn't deny that fanatics do exist and are brainwashing kids. Clairmont's name came up when CSIS targeted a local extremist group.
Scarier stuff when it hits close to home.

Not by Imams that's for sure. They routinely call these guys "terrorists" and "cowards".
I've seen this guy around and heard he had left to Syria to fight so not surprised he's dead. He's not the only one from Calgary who left to fight but make no mistake it isn't coming from the leaders of the mosque.
