Lateral move at best by the Oilers, Scrivens has not shown he's better than Dubnyk. His numbers this year are inflated because of the Kings system.
Heck, even if we accept the premise that Scrivens is better than Dubnyk, is he that much better to justify trading a very high 3rd rounder (essentially a late 2nd) and taking on a bad contract for an aging, overpaid fourth liner? I don't thinks so, but then again, I don't know anything about winning like Kevin Lowe. Stupid Oilers.
Add to that, he's a pending UFA. Gratned, Dubnyk was as well, but considering he was drafted by the Oilers and spend his entire career there, there was a much higher chance that'd he'd re-sign than Scrivens. If Scrivens re-signs with the Oilers, I'd really have to question his intellect. Right now, Edmonton is suicide for goalies.
