Large companies have no issue buying tickets as hockey will always be an event to entertain clients good team or bad. Plus the earning power for people in this city is among the highest in canada which is why it has grown so much in the past 20 years. I think your assumption about calgary is waaaay off

Well, my movement on the Hot House list is dramatically different than yours. I'm on the 2nd deck wait list, if that makes a difference. I was actually offered tickets this year after 1 year on the Hot House. Also, I do handle all my company's Avison Young Club tickets and the interest is down. I'm receiving a lot more "uhhhh, lemme check if I can find someone to use them" and "thanks, but I'll pass" (for weekday games) than I ever have in the past.
Those are just my experiences and it started midway through last year. Those aren't assumptions.
Perhaps my assumption about the Calgary fan base is off, but I think Flames ownership has a similar outlook. They don't want to wait too much longer to be competitive and held onto Iginla for fear of falling back to uncompetitive hockey and a largely disinterested casual fan base.
