I have some familiarity with the community resistance charts in that area (worked many years in the southeast michigan hospital system). If this infection was picked up in Windsor (thought I read that earlier in the thread?), good chance it was MRSA. The infectious disease protocols where I worked was to empirically treat community acquired infections as MRSA, even before sensitivity labs came back. The terrifying thing is that in that area, it could even be worse. The first ever documented case of VRSA (MRSA with turbo and nitrous) is from an area hospital.
