I think we have some rookies that will start making a difference next season, both within the system and one that will be drafted top three later this year. More importantly, we are on the verge of completing a major culture change that began with the sell-off last year and will be completed at the deadline this year. I think Burke will stay at the helm and I have faith that he will succeed in trading and signing a new core of vets capable of delivering a team game that will produce a few more wins and more entertainment next year.

I waited a long time for this rebuild and I refuse to be pessimistic in year one.
It's time to start being realistic.

The only reason we are as good as we are right now is because our Vet core is carrying the mail for us. We have one of the worst collections of young NHLers in the league which will need to be continually supplanted by Vets if you hope to maintain even the same results as this year.

As of right now, 2 of our top 11 scorers are under 25. Yuck.

I for one would not be satisfied if Burke decided to keep guys like Stajan, Stempniak, Cammalleri on the roster either, to attempt to just maintain our current level of play.

We're bad. Really bad and it might be another 2 years before we even get back to our current level of play.
